WAAG UK holds Imam Training Day

On Saturday 28 April 2012, WAAG UK held an Imam training day for Imams, chaplains and teachers working within mosques and the prison and health services of the United Kingdom certified by the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates.
 
The training programme was titled ‘The Role and Understanding of the Modern Imam’ and was based around different workshops and seminars including the role of Imams and Mosques in contemporary Britain and the development and change in British Mosques and related initiatives....

President of Al-Azhar visits Shaykh Pirzada at Jamia Al-Karam

On the afternoon of Tuesday 24 April 2012 a high level delegation from the historic Al-Azhar University arrived at Jamia Al-Karam, which houses the head office of WAAG UK, to meet with Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada.

Sister accepts Islam at Al-Karam inspired by Imam Asim

On Tuesday 13 March 2012, a sister named Katie visited Jamia Al-Karam inspired by Imam Asim and his talk on drugs and alcohol. At Jamia Al-Karam, Sister Katie spent time with teachers and students of the Al-Karam Islamic Studies College for Girls after which she met with the Founder and Principal of Jamia Al-Karam, Shaykh Muhammad Pirzada, in the Zia-ul-Ummat Suite where Sister Katie declared the shahadah and entered the folds of Islam.

Urs Gathering of A'la Hadrat held at Jamia Al-Karam

A spiritual and uplifting gathering commemorating the life of the great Islamic Reviver of the Fourteenth Century, A'la Hadrat Imam Ahmad Rada Khan Baraylwi (Allah have mercy upon him), on the occasion of his annual Urs of Remembrance took place at Jamia Al-Karam on Thursday 19 January 2012 under the supervision of Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada. Condolences at the sad demise of Former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Muhammad Afzal Zullah

Shaykh Muhammad Pirzada has offered his sincere condolences at the sad demise of Mr Justice Muhammad Afzal Zullah, Former Chief Justice of Pakistan, who passed away on Friday 23rd December 2011 in Lahore, Pakistan.
 
Born in April 1928, Mr Justice Muhammad Afzal Zullah graduated from the Punjab University and as a student was an active worker in the Muslim Students Federation and participated in the Independence Movement for Pakistan. In 1950 he began his legal career and in 1979 he was appointed as a member of the Shariat Appellate Bench of the Supreme Court of Pakistan where from 1982 until his demise he acted as its Chairman. Shaykh Pirzadas tour of Turkey and address in Afghan Conference

On Tuesday 29 November 2011, Shaykh Pirzada arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, ahead of the three day conference titled ‘Islamic Cooperation for a Peaceful Future in Afghanistan’ which was being held at the Barceló Eresin Topkapi Hotel.

Shaykh Muhammad Pirzada arrives in Pakistan for a short three-day visit - November 2011

On Thursday 10th November 2011, Shaykh Muhammad Pirzada arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, Pakistan, at around 7am where he was greeted by many well-wishers and followers including Pir Mazhar Hussain al-Qadri of Manghani (Jhang), Pir Tahir Hussain al-Qadri, Zulfqar Haider Pirzada al-Azhari, Allama Raza-ud-Din Siddiqui (Chairman of Zavia Foundation) and others.

President of Al-Azhar University visits WAAG UK at Jamia Al-Karam (UK)

On Monday 26 September 2011, a delegation of senior officials from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, visited Jamia Al-Karam and the office of the UK Branch of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates (WAAG UK) in Retford, Nottinghamshire. The UK Branch of WAAG was inaugurated on 25 June 2011 by Prof Dr Abdul Fadeel al-Qawsi (Vice Chairman of WAAG and current Minister for Religious Endowment of Egypt) when he came to the UK to address the international Gateway to Divine Mercy event held in Sheridan Suite in Manchester in June.

The delegation was headed by the President of Al-Azhar University, Dr Usama al-Abd and included the Vice Chairman of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates, Mr Usama Yasin and the Secretary General, Dr Abdul Daim Nusaer....

Condolences at the sad demise of Dr Burhanuddin Rabbani, former President of Afghanistan

On Tuesday 20th September 2011, the former President of Afghanistan was sadly assassinated in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Shaykh Muhammad Pirzada expressed his deep condolences following this tragic news and condemned the killing of an erudite Islamic scholar and visionary leader.

Dr Burhanuddin Rabbani was particularly close to Shaykh Muhammad Pirzada and Jamia Al-Karam as he visited the institution not many years ago to enrol his son, Yusuf Rabbani, into Jamia Al-Karam. Yusuf, a star pupil and head-boy of the school, went on to complete his GCSEs and graduate from Jamia Al-Karam having gained first position achieving some 8 A-star grades...

The Gateway 2011 Conference hailed a huge success

The Gateway to Divine Mercy 2011 Conference, which was held in Manchester (UK) on Sunday 26th June 2011, attracted more than 1,100 young Muslim and non-Muslim men and women. The theme for this year’s 6th Annual Conference was “Guiding Our Actions”; an important topic which aimed to illustrate how ones actions should be carried out correctly without deviating from the Shari'ah (Islamic law). The Conference was presented jointly this year by Jamia Al-Karam (Retford, UK) and the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates (WAAG).
