Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi, the Chief Executive of DMG Bhera, Pakistan, arrived in London on Monday 9 November 2009 after participating in an official conference of Sufi scholars in Tripoli. Immediately the following day, Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat visited Jamia Al-Karam to meet and enquire about the physical health of Shaykh M I H Pirzada, who has been unwell for a while. Shaykh Pirzada visits Morocco & attends The Sidi Shiker Second World Meeting

On Thursday 9th July 2009, Shaykh Pirzada arrived at the Mohamed V International Airport in Casablanca, Morocco to attend “The Sidi Shiker Second World Meeting of Tasawwuf Affiliates” initiated by the Ministry of Religious Endowments and Islamic Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco. After arriving in Casablanca, Shaykh Pirzada met with other leading Shuyukh and scholars who had arrived from Beirut, Lebanon, and together they travelled by car directly to the Congress Palace complex of the Mansour Eddahbi Hotel in Marrakech.

On Tuesday 7 April 2009, Dr Sahibzada Sajid-ur-Rahman visited Jamia Al-Karam and met with Shaykh M I H Pirzada. Dr Sajid-ur-Rahman is Head of the Department of Sirah & Maghazi at the Islamic Research Institute and Associate Professor at the International Islamic University of Islamabad.

On Saturday 14 March 2009, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad ( T J Winter) visited Jamia Al-Karam and met with Shaykh M I H Pirzada. Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad is currently the Shaykh Zayed Lecturer of Islamic Studies in the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University and Director of Studies in Theology at Wolfson College.

Today, Jamia Al-Karam was struck by sudden grief at the news that the highly respected Shaykh of the Chishti Tariqah, Pir Sayyid Naseer-ud-Din Shah Naseer, suddenly departed from this temporary world around the blessed time of the Friday Prayer in Golra Sharif, Pakistan. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji‘un.

Pir Naseer-ud-Din was a notable Islamic scholar, author, orator, poet and Sufi leader. He is the great grandson of the Grand Shaykh of Golra Sharif, Pir Sayyid Mehr ‘Ali Shah (may Allah have mercy on him)....

Al-Karam School tops Notts GCSE League Table Again

On Friday 16 January 2009, the national league tables for the GCSE examinations of Summer 2008 were published. Jamia Al-Karam’s Al-Karam Secondary School took first position in the entire county of Nottinghamshire with a pass rate of 100% (5+ subjects A*-C including English and Mathematics). This means that the School has remained in first position in the entire county of Nottinghamshire for the past four consecutive years.

Shaykh Pirzada examines The Jewel of Medina by Sherry Jones

Shaykh Pirzada has had the opportunity to examine this book and has written a paper analysing it and discussing some key themes that appear to be at the heart of the novel. Sherry Jones has based the novel around the character of the noble wife of Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace), namely ‘A’ishah Siddiqah (Allah be pleased with her). Shaykh M I H Pirzada responds to Amina Wadud leading Friday Prayer in Oxford

On Friday 17 October 2008, Dr Amina Wadud led a mixed congregation of less than a dozen for the Friday Prayer in Oxford. Dr Amina Wadud had previously led such a congregation in March 2005 in New York. The event was repeated here in the UK and was organised by Dr Taj Hargey of the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford (MECO).

Shaykh M I H Pirzada attends A Common Word conference in Cambridge University

On Sunday 12th October 2008, a major international conference of Muslim and Christian scholars and religious leaders began at Cambridge University. The conference opened with presentations from the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Revd & Rt Hon Dr Rowan Williams, and the Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Shaykh Prof. Dr Ali Gomaa Mohamed Abdel Wahab

The conference was titled ‘A Common Word and Future Muslim-Christian Engagement’. The event was the second in a series of conferences which aim to continue the dialogue between the two faiths prompted by the release of A Common Word Between Us And You - a letter from 138 Islamic scholars, clerics and intellectuals published in October 2007. In July 2008, the Archbishop of Canterbury, after extensive consultation with scholars and leaders from many churches, sent a detailed letter in response, A Common Word for the Common Good...

Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat visited the United Kingdom on a tour and had the opportunity to visit Jamia Al-Karam and the new faculty on Thursday 16 October 2008. All students of the Al-Karam Secondary School and the Centre for Higher Education (Dars Nizami) anxiously awaited his arrival and upon the arrival of his motorcade in the grounds of Jamia Al-Karam, the students sang the blessed Qasidah Burdah and Shaykh M I H Pirzada welcomed the honourable Shaykh to Jamia Al-Karam.

Immediately, Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat was taken by Shaykh M I H Pirzada on a tour of the new faculty and then met the new students. In his short but spiritually uplifting address to the new students, Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat repeatedly thanked Allah (Most High) for this new development and congratulated Shaykh M I H Pirzada and his honourable wife on their hard work and dedication.....
