Grand opening of Jamia Al-Karams female Islamic Studies faculty

On Sunday 5 October 2008, Shaykh M I H Pirzada, accompanied by Allama Sayyid Hafiz Muhammad Farooq Shah (Birmingham), staff of Jamia Al-Karam and other guests, officially opened this new faculty of Jamia Al-Karam. Shaykh M I H Pirzada offered prayers of gratitude to Allah (Most High) in the new academic block and then all guests seated themselves in the new lounge set up for the students. Shaykh M I H Pirzada and the guests spent a few moments in quiet contemplation and reflection and moments later contact was made with Shaykh Muhammad Amin al-Hasanat Shah al-Qurashi at DMG Bhera in Pakistan via telephone. Shaykh Amin al-Hasanat al-Qurashi is the principal of DMG Bhera as well as the Ghawthiyya Girls College (which is catering for 900+ female boarding students) and its affiliated branches....

Star performance - Jamia Al-Karam's 100% GCSE pass rate

Jamia Al-Karam's Al-Karam Secondary School has remained in first position in the Nottinghamshire GCSE league for the last three consecutive years; 2005, 2006 and 2007.

On Thursday 21 August 2008, the GCSE results of 2008 were released by all schools nationally. Jamia Al-Karam achieved an outstanding result of 100% pass rate (A*-C grade in 5+ subjects including A*-C in English and Mathematics). Of all the total number of grades achieved by the pupils in all their subjects, 20% were A*, 34% were A, 28% were B and 11% were C.

Mohamed Abdirisak Ahmed from Hayes and Ahmed Ayaz Rehman from Woking jointly came in first position both gaining 6 A* and 3 A grades. Ahadur Rahman from Birmingham came in second position gaining 4 A*, 3 A and 2 B grades.

Barrister Nazeer Ahmad Ghazi visits Shaykh M I H Pirzada

On Thursday 17 July 2008, Barrister Nazeer Ahmad Ghazi visited Shaykh M I H Pirzada at Jamia Al-Karam accompanied with some fellow dignitaries. Barrister Nazeer Ahmad Ghazi is the President of the International Muslim Lawyers Forum, Vice President of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan and is an advocate at the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

The founder and principal of Jamia Al-Karam, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada has commented that imprisoning merely out of suspicion any individual for up to 42 days does not befit a civilised and developed state such as the United Kingdom. Shaykh Pirzada meets and addresses members of AKSA

The Al-Karam Scholars Association (AKSA) is made up of over one hundred British Imams, scholars and teachers who have graduated from Jamia Al-Karam since its establishment in 1985. Moreover, with the passing of every academic year, the number of graduates of Jamia Al-Karam is constantly on the increase. In addition to the studies at Jamia Al-Karam, many have completed further education at Egypt’s Al-Azhar University as well as various universities of Great Britain. On Sunday 2 March 2008, a bi-annual meeting of AKSA was held at Jamia Al-Karam.

Al-Karam Secondary School tops Nottinghamshire League Table

On Thursday 10 January 2008, the national league tables showing the 2007 GCSE results of all the schools in the United Kingdom were officially published. We are pleased to announce that Al-Karam Secondary School has for the third consecutive year come first in the entire county of Nottinghamshire with a 94% pass rate at grades A*-C in a minimum of 5 subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

Shadow Minister visits Jamia Al-Karam

On Friday 4 January 2008, Shadow Minister for Communities and Local Government and the Member of Parliament for Wycombe, Paul Goodman, visited the Jamia Al-Karam School based in Retford. The local Member of Parliament, Patrick Mercer OBE, was also present at the School on this occasion. Both members of parliament spent nearly two hours at the school where they had the opportunity to meet and discuss issues of mutual concern with the School’s Founder and Principal, Shaykh M I H Pirzada.

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Ninowy visits Jamia Al-Karam

On Saturday 29 December 2007, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Husayni al-Ninowy visited Shaykh M I H Pirzada at Jamia Al-Karam. He was accompanied by Dr Muhammad Ali ibn al-Siddiq al-Ghumari from Morocco as well as Muhammad Ali Dar, a graduate of Jamia Al-Karam and Al-Azhar University and an active member of the Al-Karam Scholars Association (AKSA).

Outstanding Ofsted report on the Al-Karam Secondary School

Jamia Al-Karam’s Al-Karam Secondary School, established in April 1995, has continuously been moving from strength to strength providing a high standard of education in an Islamic atmosphere for young Muslim boys of the United Kingdom.
