Tuesday, 26 January 2010

Allama Badr al-Qadiri from the NetherlandsOn Friday 22 January 2010, a delegation of Imams from the Netherlands visited Shaykh M I H Pirzada at Jamia Al-Karam. The delegation was head by Allama Badr al-Qadiri and was accompanied by Mufti Shams al-Huda al-Misbahi and Maulana Umar Hayat Qadiri.

Upon arrival in the evening at about 7pm, the guests were taken to the Zia-ul-Ummat Suite where they were welcomed by Shaykh Pirzada. Immediately they were taken on a tour of the Jamia Al-Karam complex and saw its various functions and facilities. This was followed by supper with Shaykh Pirzada during which the various services of Jamia Al-Karam were discussed.

After the meal, the guests met the senior students of Dars Nizami at Jamia Al-Karam. Maulana Umar Hayat Qadiri introduced the guests and Mufti Shams al-Huda al-Misbahi addressed the students providing advice on the importance of pursuing Islamic knowledge as well as demonstrating respect towards time. Time is a precious commodity which if ignored and wasted leads to a loss that can never be recovered. He commented upon his relationship with Shaykh Pirzada and how he has benefitted from the thinking of Shaykh Pirzada.

Following his address, the scholar and poet Allama Badr al-Qadiri from Holland began his address by placing Jamia Al-Karam in the context of the profound and dedicated services offered and dreamed about by the pious ones of the past. He congratulated Shaykh Pirzada on his works and advised the students to take special care of their time and company at Jamia Al-Karam. He expressed how honoured he felt by witnessing this institution which he had heard so much about. In the end, he read out some of his great poetic works especially in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Shaykh Pirzada then thanked the guests for taking the time out to visit Jamia Al-Karam. The guests had one further session with Shaykh Pirzada over tea where the future of Jamia Al-Karam was discussed as well as the issues facing the Muslim communities of the United Kingdom as well as Europe as a whole.

Soon after, the guests bid farewell and departed from Jamia Al-Karam.
