Accompanying Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad were Dr. Michael Muhammad As'ad Berdine (Director of the Cambridge Muslim College), Mujadad Zaman (Curriculum Development Coordinator at the Cambridge Muslim College) and Imam Imran Sulaman (a graduate of Jamia Al-Karam and the University of Al-Azhar, Egypt, who is currently pursuing his studies at the Cambridge Muslim College). The guests were welcomed on the picturesque grounds of Jamia Al-Karam at 11:00 am by Shaykh M I H Pirzada and senior students of Higher Islamic Studies at Jamia Al-Karam. They were immediately taken to the Zia-ul-Ummat Suite where Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and Shaykh M I H Pirzada had the opportunity to have a discussion on matters pertaining to a wide range of issues. Following this, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad had the opportunity to address the senior students of Higher Islamic Studies as well as senior pupils from the Al-Karam Secondary School. He began by commenting upon how privileged he felt by being at Jamia Al-Karam and visiting Shaykh M I H Pirzada and the students of Jamia Al-Karam. In his address, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad advised the students regarding the important role of a true scholar who must be objective towards himself realising his reality and thus pursuing the path of humility and humbleness as well as being objective towards others realising their need and potential. A scholar, as the heir to the Prophets, must be fully equipped and competent and have an understanding of the context in which he is and be inwardly and outwardly sufficient in providing education, knowledge and spiritual guidance.
Upon concluding the session with the students, the guests were taken on a short tour of the grounds and facilities provided by Jamia Al-Karam including the Girls College which began two years ago. Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad was also briefed on the plans for the new Girls Boarding School that will be established at Jamia Al-Karam and was taken on a tour of the site upon which the Girls Boarding School is to be built. The guests were then taken to the Zia-ul-Ummat Suite where lunch was provided and various issues were discussed over lunch and tea. Shaykh M I H Pirzada then thanked Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and the guests for visiting Jamia Al-Karam and both scholars subsequently bid farewell. It was an honour and privilege for all at Jamia Al-Karam to have hosted Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and we pray that Allah (most high) grants Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad and Shaykh M I H Pirzada with continuing blessings and favours in their noble endeavours of working for the cause of Allah (most high).
