Ramadan Reflection Shaykh Pirzadas message on behalf of WAAG-UK Print E-mail
Saturday, 03 August 2013

President of WAAG-UK congratulates the Muslims of the world upon entering the last ten days of Ramadan with a specific message for the people of Egypt and Al-Azhar.

ImageThe holy month of Ramadan of the year 1434 AH is soon to pass by leaving much in terms of reflection. As the month entered the last ten days of fasting and prayers, Shaykh Muhammad Imdad Hussain Pirzada, President of the UK Branch of the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates (WAAG-UK), extended his words of congratulations to the Muslims of the world and forwarded a specific message to the people of Egypt as well as asking the Muslims to offer prayers for those suffering in many parts of the world at the present moment.

The statement issued by WAAG-UK read, “It is by the blessings and divine grace of Allah Almighty that He has once again granted the Muslims of the world the opportunity to gain peace, mercy, forgiveness and hope by spending the days in fasting and the nights in prayers during this sacred month of Ramadan. The way of Islam is a blessing, the world we live in together is a blessing and this time of Ramadan is also a blessing. Furthermore, the last ten days of this beautiful month hold within them a deeper significance and subtle opportunities of grasping the favours of Allah Almighty and following the way of His beloved Messenger Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace).”

In the statement, Shaykh Pirzada stated, “On behalf of WAAG-UK, I take this opportunity to wholeheartedly congratulate and forward sincere well-wishes to all those associated with Al-Azhar University, the World Association for Al-Azhar Graduates and all the Muslims around the world during these blessed last ten days of Ramadan and I request them to take maximum benefit from this precious time that is quickly passing by.”

Reflecting on the present situation, Shaykh Pirzada continued, “Hundreds of Muslims around the world face difficulties at the present time due to poverty and war as well as violence towards each other. I urge the Muslims to pray seeking forgiveness from Allah Almighty and asking for His divine mercy upon all Muslims suffering in troublesome circumstances. And I call upon the Egyptian people – who host in their land the great tradition of Al-Azhar – to refrain from violence, division and discord and adopt the path of unity in order to overcome the challenges of the present context.”

“In this month in which the Qur’an was revealed,” he added, “let us reflect on the sanctity of human life and the message of the Qur’an that the killing of one life is equal to the killing of humanity, and saving one life is equal to saving all humanity.”

WAAG-UK wishes all Muslims everywhere a blessed and fruitful Ramadan.
